Seeing design as a process of ongoing research into essentiality, so as to highlight the characteristics and functions of objects, Alki is a furniture studio founded in 1981 in the small village of Itsasu, in the Basque Country (France). Simplicity, pure lines and a contemporary interpretation of knowhow from the past are some of the values of the French company, brought into being through the combination of desires and aspirations of five friends. The pieces developed by Alki stand out for their creativity and for innovation, in association with old techniques, with memory a constituent element and stimulus for the creation of products of strong emotions.
