THE ART OF TRANSFORMATION

 

Dorte Mandrup, is an architect and the mind that controls one of the most original, complex and innovative architectural office in the world. Considered one of today`s most inspiring women, Dorte Mandrup, founder and creative director of Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter, prefers to distance herself from that claim and be recognized for her work - "I`m not a women architect. I`m an architect ". The homonymous studio she manages is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is recognized for specializing in the "art of transformation." More than building something from scratch, this office surprises by transforming pre-existing buildings and giving them a new life, a new soul. It`s almost like looking into the future through its past. It`s not an easy job, but these architects manage it with art.
