Gray Box

Interiors | 04 Jul 2017

AD Architecture studio took minimalism in black, white and gray to a house in the coastal village of Shantou, in China. In a project named Gray Box, the neutral colours create a space with texture. The only non-neutral colour is earth yellow, in some details.
The spaces are divided by white matt paint and marble, with the reflection of natural light. A large window frames the landscape and allows the entrance of natural light, which bring a “Zen atmosphere” with it.
Materials such as leather, wood, tiles and gray glass were used. Art, in the same neutral colours as those of the house, gives “a touch of lightness” to the space.
A minimalist, yet sophisticated and modern house was created, which combines with the owner’s lifestyle.
