THE ARCHITECTURE OF SHOES
After spending a year at Jimmy Choo, in London, and another at Boca do Lobo, in Washington, Inês Caleiro realised that design was an essential part of her life and that shoes were the medium with which to express what she felt – a passion for creating unique pieces for unique people. Moved by these motives, the designer developed a collection of shoes, which later, in 2011, came together under the brand name Guava, comprising a series of pieces of vibrant colours and architectural structure. This creativity has now been recognised, with the Portuguese designer being given the Dream Award, a prize awarded in Shanghai by the Fashion Crowd Challenge, which rewards the most promising designers in the world.
