RESISTING NATURE´S ELEMENTS
We are on an unpaved road. The almond trees, where the fruit is still green, surround us and stretch for a distance out of sight. We know what expects us, or we think we know, because the destination is never exactly what we imagine. It is, most of the time, pleasantly surprising. There is still a stretch of road ahead of us, but we can already see, far away, in the midst of an astounding landscape, the purpose of our visit. La Casa del Desierto.
In the Gorafe desert in Granada, Spain, under a magnificent sun that the clouds are not able to hide, we catch sight of the house right next to a valley. The surroundings are absolutely breathtaking. The desert stretches over the horizon, the heat embraces us and La Casa del Desierto astounds us. Within a space of only 20 m2we enjoy a privileged view in each of the three divisions that constitute it, as there is nothing more than glass dividing the house’s interior to the desert outside.
