LEAVING YOU BEGGING FOR MORE
We are at Cais do Sodré, Rua da Ribeira Nova 28, where for 50 years was a butchery that provided Mercado da Ribeira. We are talking about Sala de Corte, a Lisbon “steakhouse” that opened in 2015 to the delight of meat lovers and to explore the maturation universe. An idea which still continues to make us wonder and is nothing more than "a natural process of softening meat" that makes it "tender and with a more intense flavour." The kitchen was handed over to the care of young chef Luís Gaspar, who won Chef Cozinheiro do Ano contest in 2017 with "a menu related to Portuguese tradition". Born in Leiria, Luis began cooking through "motherly influence" and made his debut in the kitchen of Pestana Palace Hotel. Currently he is part of the Multifood group and is divided between the Sala de Corte and DeliDelux, on Avenida da Liberdade.
However let`s go back to Sala de Corte.
