In this corner of Portugal, captured in the novels of Agustina Bessa-Luís and the films of Manoel de Oliveira, the Six Senses Douro Valley hotel occupies a space formerly taken up by the Quinta Vale Abraão estate, transforming the old manor house, dating from the 19th century, and the surrounding land, into a setting able to provide a plethora of experiences.

In the spa, an indoor pool, ten treatment rooms and a fitness area, inspire you to soak up the serene surroundings. In the three restaurant environments, it’s time to soak up the array of appealing and appetising local ingredients and specialities. (…)
