MEMORIES, INHERITANCE AND CONTEMPORANEITY
It is a contemporary spacious home with a decoration that drifts through the modern and family inherited pieces and small bags with personal stories. These are just some of the features that characterize the project that Susana Camelo – Interior Design´s studio carried out in an apartment in the Boavista area of Porto.
It was an old 4-bedroom apartment, which was rehabilitated: the woodwork in cherry wood was "lacquered in white," explains Susana Camelo, and the walls, which used to be in yellow, now involve the inhabitants in cobalt blue and micro concrete. One of the most striking areas of the place is the open-space living room, divided into four zones, i.e. between reading areas, television – hidden by an undulated wall – dining and living – unpretentiously towards the sea. There, we find sophisticated designers´ pieces. Among them, two Barcelona chairs honey coloured, "a Corbusier in the reading area", an Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman or the magnificent Artichoke hanging lamp by Louis Poulsen.
