THE DARK SIDE OF ROMANTICISM
The design is recent (2014) but the inspiration for Witch & Watchman, English wallpaper and fabric brand, lies somewhere in the mid 20th-century, when Film Noir, the brooding film genre, brought an unfathomable mystery and a dark romanticism to the silver screen.
Since completing her studies at Central St. Martins, artist and designer Helen Wilson has been dedicated to creating papers and fabrics that perfectly replicate the drama of Hollywood-created homes, such as the mansion of Miss Haversham’s, in Great Expectations or the home of The Adams Family, recreating the sensation of veritable living walls.
